Celina Decorações

Celina Zilberberg was founding partner of Tapeçaria Boa Vista, one of the most prominent textile manufactures of Rio de Janeiro for decades. In the early 60’s, her son, Muniz Zilberberg, aiming at the growing market for modern furniture, transforms the textile factory into a wood furniture shop specialized in rosewood, and changes the name to Celina Decoracoes. Focused on controlling the costs and multiplying customers, the Celina production was more affordable than Tenreiro Moveis or Sergio Rodrigues, but with comparable high quality finishings and woodwork. Celina Decoraçoes remains for twenty years one of the favorite furniture shops of the carioca high middle class.
